{"id":3168,"date":"2012-04-29T22:17:56","date_gmt":"2012-04-29T21:17:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/geoffjones.com\/?p=3168"},"modified":"2012-04-29T22:17:56","modified_gmt":"2012-04-29T21:17:56","slug":"a-very-nesh-geoff-in-penzance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsite.geoffjones.com\/?p=3168","title":{"rendered":"A very nesh Geoff in Penzance :-("},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/geoffjones.com\/?attachment_id=3171\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3171\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-3171\" title=\"Tremont Hotel &amp; Pentrea Hotel\" src=\"https:\/\/geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/IMG_8034-127x300.jpg\" alt=\"Tremont Hotel &amp; Pentrea Hotel\" width=\"127\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newsite.geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/IMG_8034-127x300.jpg 127w, https:\/\/newsite.geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/IMG_8034.jpg 434w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 127px) 100vw, 127px\" \/><\/a>Oh dear, today I was totally put to shame by the Dutch couple who strode out into the storm and faced a whole day of wind &amp; heavy rain whilst I cried off and just hung around Penzance all day \ud83d\ude41 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\">I hold my head in shame.<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tremonthotel.co.uk\/\">The Tremont Hotel<\/a> wanted me out so they kindly booked me into their neighbour The Pentrea,\u00a0(\u00a330 b&amp;b) when I arrived a few minutes later they were hosting The Penzance weekly police breakfast fry up:-) Once we had sorted out the inevitable password problems I settled in to a day of RSS feeds and di.fm.<\/p>\n<p>I tried to hook up with some local Twitter folks and made contact wirh @bluebellbank @throughthegaps @jessicas_pz \u00a0but no one could meet up \ud83d\ude41 \u00a0so I wandered around a wind and rain swept Penzance where very few shops were open getting\u00a0thoroughly\u00a0soaked and destroying an umbrella due to the high winds etc.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3169\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3169\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/geoffjones.com\/?attachment_id=3169\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3169\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3169\" title=\"Broccoli \" src=\"https:\/\/geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/IMG_1227-300x189.jpg\" alt=\"Broccoli \" width=\"300\" height=\"189\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3169\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wetherspoons - spot the difference<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>After reading about habit formation I found myself in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk\/home\/pubs\/the-tremenheere\">local Wetherspoons<\/a> for dinner, the dinner was pretty rubbish, apparently they are having problems with the new menu &#8211; as\u00a0the kids can&#8217;t tell if broccoli is overcooked. The lady kindly redid it and we got chatting, apparently<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tim_Martin_(businessman)#Tim_Martin\"> Tim Marti<\/a>n (who we beat in court &amp; greatly admired us) pops by quite regularly. I hope they get the food sorted for his next visit!<\/p>\n<p>The highlight of the day was meeting with Mike of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.luggagetransfers.co.uk\/\">Baggage Transfers<\/a> in The Alex this evening, I can see why it is a thriving\u00a0successful\u00a0business. a great guy with his feet firmly on the ground.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow a now fully confirmed <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nesh\">nesh <\/a>Geoff will recommence the walk come hail and shine. When will I catch the Dutch couple up \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><del>Any ideas about what the name in the header is about, Vandervour lane<\/del>?
