{"id":17631,"date":"2018-03-02T10:06:42","date_gmt":"2018-03-02T10:06:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.geoffjones.com\/?p=17631"},"modified":"2018-03-02T10:06:42","modified_gmt":"2018-03-02T10:06:42","slug":"overview-iberian-coast-coast-cycle-ride","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsite.geoffjones.com\/?p=17631","title":{"rendered":"Overview of my Iberian Coast to Coast Cycle ride"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>For my regular readers, all the previous posts are updated with Flickr links<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nIts been a reasonable 1,000-mile bike ride at an average of 56 miles\u00a0 (90km) a biking day (it&#8217;s the first question everyone asks me).<\/p>\n<p>Things I&#8217;ve maybe learnt:<\/p>\n<p>a) It&#8217;s hopelessly impractical\u00a0to do long distance train journeys in Europe with a touring bike may be just about on your own but for two well I wish you both best of luck \ud83d\ude41 Even two Brompton&#8217;s would be a challenge. Stick to planes or the various ferries maybe even coaches.<\/p>\n<p>b) Southern Spain Andalucia is excellent for winter biking and with Mallorca getting overcrowded with bikes it&#8217;s certainly worth a go, Quiet, excellent roads, good weather and relatively inexpensive.
