We eventually arrived at Faro airport at 8.30pm \ud83d\ude41 \u00a0having left home at 10.30am.<\/p>\n<p>At Faro we had another wait for the taxi to Sagres, finally arriving at the Mareta View B&amp;B at 10.30pm. We quickly dashed out for a rather excellent meal &amp; wine at Mums Restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>Today after a fantastic buffet breakfast we started our walk complete with rucksacks &amp; poles my bag weighing in at 8kg. Once again mainly due to all my electronics.<\/p>\n<p>The day was sunny but oh so so windy which bought the perceived temperature down to13 degrees, the scenery was superb especially with the crystal clear air and bright sunshine. The cliffs are stunning and the wild flowers very abundant. The walking surface was very varied with sand, ankle twisting rocks, tarmac &amp; tracks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/newsite.geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/1-2017-03-12-17.27.57.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-16341\" src=\"https:\/\/newsite.geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/1-2017-03-12-17.27.57-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newsite.geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/1-2017-03-12-17.27.57-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/newsite.geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/1-2017-03-12-17.27.57-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/newsite.geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/1-2017-03-12-17.27.57.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>We walked from \u00a0Sagres to the castle but refused the entrance fee so then headed to the lighthouse at the end of the world using a variety of tracks and on road walking. After the lighthouse we went along the cliffs to Praia do Telherio\u00a0and then back on to the GR13 to Vila do Bispo and the highly rated Pure Flor de Esteva B&amp;B for the night.<\/p>\n<p>A good walk of over 14 miles and 1300 feet of ascent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.strava.com\/activities\/897575024\">according to Strava <\/a>made harder with the constant high winds in our face \ud83d\ude41 The days <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/sc\/h3n7k5xy5dswtrd\/AACvjy_I2x25ON_k_rVRIGx1a\">pictures are here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We are still undecided as to which route to go tomorrow \ud83d\ude41 the preferred inland route appears to suffer a lack of accommodation whereas the coastal route we will\u00a0be walking into the high winds again.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sally decided that it was time for us to return to multi-day hiking \ud83d\ude42 and go to somewhere warmer than the UK for her weeks holiday in March.
