As in lets traipse everyone down the \u00a0Lipe beach &amp; back to get their passports stamped and then dump said 54 passports in one big bag \u00a0&amp; try and find their owners on the boat \ud83d\ude41 Total &amp; utter nightmare.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12521\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12521\" style=\"width: 320px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/1-IMG_1359.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12521\" alt=\"If all passport controls were like this..\" src=\"https:\/\/geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/1-IMG_1359.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newsite.geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/1-IMG_1359.jpg 320w, https:\/\/newsite.geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/1-IMG_1359-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12521\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">If all passport controls were like this..<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Didn&#8217;t really like <a href=\"http:\/\/wikitravel.org\/en\/Langkawi\">Langkawi <\/a>very much apart from getting a new SIM &#8211; \u00a312 for 4.5GB of data &amp; the Starbucks \ud83d\ude41 so I rapidly booked the high speed ferry to Penang, excellent, although it has to be said I get very confused by young guys dressed in western clothes dragging along their women in full burqas, \u00a0such blatant hypocrisy &amp; denial of rights really upsets me.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/1-IMG_1412.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-12522\" alt=\"1-IMG_1412\" src=\"https:\/\/geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/1-IMG_1412.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newsite.geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/1-IMG_1412.jpg 320w, https:\/\/newsite.geoffjones.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/1-IMG_1412-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/a>Penang seems very pleasant and I found The Muntri House homestay very welcoming with the bike taking pride of place in the foyer although not sure about going on a hike in the night to find the loo \ud83d\ude41 However, it&#8217;s only for one night as they are full tomorrow..<\/p>\n<p>Apparently no bikes are allowed on the bridge to the mainland so will have to take a short ferry across to Butterworth on the main peninsula so I can get biking again.<\/p>\n<p>A few pics can be <a href=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/photos\/+GeoffJones47\/albums\/5994378832856836305\">found here <\/a>although a possible warning if you are of a jealous disposition<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Finally managed to extricate myself from the gorgeous island of Lipe although it has to be said the ferry company to Langkawi make very hard work of the border transition to Malaya.
